The short version
Your voice is transcribed on your own device. Your audio is never uploaded to a server. There is no account, no database, and your transcript is not stored anywhere by JustwRight. The only time any text leaves your device is if you choose the optional Polish step, and you are told before that happens.
Your microphone and audio
When you press record, the browser asks for microphone permission and captures audio. That audio is processed entirely in your browser by a speech-to-text model that runs locally. The audio is held only in memory for the length of the transcription and is discarded after. It is not sent to us or to anyone else.
Your transcript
The transcript lives in the page. You can copy, download, or clear it. We do not save it. Refreshing or closing the tab discards it. We keep a small preference in your browser (your chosen copy style) in local storage; that never leaves your device.
The optional Polish step
Polish is the one feature that sends data off your device, and only when you tap it and grant the one-time consent. The cleaned transcript text (not your audio) is sent to our server, which forwards it to a third-party AI provider that returns a tidied version. We do not log or store the text, and the request is used only to produce your result for that call. If you never use Polish, no text ever leaves your device. Raw and Cleaned are fully local.
Abuse protection
To keep the free Polish endpoint from being abused, the server applies a rate limit keyed to your IP address. The IP is used transiently for that check and is not used to build a profile of you.
Analytics and ads
The tool itself has no analytics and no third-party trackers. If display ads are ever enabled on this site, they are served by Google AdSense, which uses cookies, and you are shown a consent choice first. Until you accept, no ad or tracking script loads. You can decline and keep using JustwRight with no change.
Children
JustwRight is a general-purpose tool and is not directed to children under 13.
