Is JustwRight really free?

Yes. JustwRight is free to use with no account and no payment. Press record, talk, and copy your transcript. There is no trial that expires and no usage cap on the core transcription, because the speech-to-text runs entirely on your own device.

Where does my audio go? Is it private?

Your voice never leaves your device for transcription. The speech-to-text model runs locally in your browser, so your audio is not uploaded anywhere. The only time text leaves your device is if you tap the optional Polish button, which sends the transcript to a cleanup model and is clearly marked before you use it.

Do I need an account or sign up?

No. There is no sign up, no email, and no login. Open the page and start recording right away.

What is the difference between Raw, Cleaned, and Polish?

Raw is the exact verbatim transcript. Cleaned removes filler words like um and uh and fixes spacing and punctuation, all on your device. Polish is an optional step that sends the text to an AI for a deeper grammar and punctuation pass. None of them summarize. You always get a one-for-one clean copy of what you said, never a summary.

Can it keep recording while I use other apps?

On a computer, the browser keeps recording while you switch windows. On a phone, browsers pause a backgrounded tab, so true background recording while you swipe through other apps is what the JustwRight Android app is for. The website still records while it is the active tab.

How long can a recording be?

As long as you want. The transcription processes your audio in overlapping chunks, so there is no fixed length limit beyond your device's memory. A progress bar shows you where it is on long recordings.

Is my transcript stored anywhere?

No. There is no account and no server-side database. Your transcript lives in the page until you copy, download, or clear it. There is no analytics and there are no third party trackers on the tool.

Does it work offline?

After the first use downloads the speech model, the transcription works offline because it runs in your browser. The optional Polish step needs a connection because it calls an AI cleanup model.
